SING ON

Theres a story that rolls around this old fishing town 'bout the song of the siren and where she can be found

they sat she lives with the dead men that fall prey to the sea and they say that they have heard her singing for me

sing on or be gone.

Well the man they call old salt says he's stared in her eyes a man of fine standing no reason to lie

said the last thing he rememberd as he slipped 'neath the fom were visions of his loved ones and warm thoughts of home

leaving daylight behind him he was down among the rocks said the singing that drew him just suddenly stopped

and he could not avert his gaze from her eyes of crystal blue said she just started smiling and asking of you

sing on or be gone

Have you ever sat alone on the ocean at night transfixed by the dance between water and moonlight

your losing all track of the time and the tide floating on something stirred so deep inside

the wind can rise from nowhere and freeze the blood in your vein and the wind on the water turns ripple to wave

bless the following wind that's me home your not long in learnin' the sea is a provider and foe

sing on or be gone.
